Salzburg is one of the smaller provinces of Austria. Composing of an area of about 7,100 square km, there are only 500,000 people. Most of the area is covered by the Alps, only the northern part is flat.

In the 17th century, the Gut Altentann was as widely known as it is now, but for a very different reason. At one time, the what was known as the Gut Altentaan was a sizable Castle.
