Amateurs and pros alike tend to thrive in each perfect combination of challenge and beauty. Our four 18-hole championship courses; The Greenbrier (the first course in the world to host both the The Ryder and Solheim Cups), The Old White, The Meadows and The Snead (our private resident's-only course), have challenged the best. America's Resort is also proud to host The Greenbrier Classic, a PGA TOUR FedExCup event, held on the legendary Old White course.
With such a rich golf heritage, The Greenbrier is fortunate to have hosted some of golf's most prominent players. You can walk in the footsteps of legends such as Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Nick Faldo, inaugural Greenbrier Classic champion Stuart Appleby and Tom Watson, who have played our distinct courses.
Watson, our golf professional emeritus, is the winner of 39 events on the PGA TOUR and current player on the Champions Tour. Among Watson's major victories are two Masters Tournaments, the 1982 U.S. Open and a remarkable five at the British Open (1975, 1977, 1980, 1982 and 1983). He also won the 2001 Senior PGA Championship and the 2003, 2005 and 2007 Senior British Open.
