A Club Born From a Local's Love for the Game

Coyote Creek Golf Club was the dream and design of Bartonville native, Bruce Borland. This golf course was his first signature course, and he was able to build it in his home town. Bruce opened his own design firm in 1989, ProDesigns, and one year later he took a design position with Jack Nicklaus’ design firm at Golden Bear International.

Over his career, he designed and/or worked on 25 golf courses in the United States, as well as Indonesia. He was only able to visit Coyote Creek four times prior to his untimely death on October 25, 1999. Coyote Creek is very proud to be a part of Bruce’s legacy and to offer this unique and challenging golf experience equaled by no other golf course in central Illinois.

Coyote Creek opened in 2000 as a 9-hole golf course with a putting green, driving range and a chipping green. Along with the 9-hole golf course, a basement-like building was constructed for the golfers as a place to check in and relax, or have a drink and a snack. In 2001, Coyote Creek grew to a full 18-hole par 72 championship course. We also offer hot and cold sandwiches, snacks and beverages at Mulligan's, our half-way cafe.

The aroma of fresh grilled half-pound burgers, quarter pound hot dogs and butterfly pork chops entice the golfers from the moment they tee off from their 1st hole.

Later, plans were put into effect to construct a much larger clubhouse to enable Coyote Creek to offer comfortable indoor seating with a breathtaking view and deck seating. This addition would provide a beautiful setting for golf outings, indoor and outdoor weddings, receptions, business meetings, celebrations and other events. In 2009, that dream became a reality and the upper level banquet and meetings rooms opened along with a revitalized lower level with added men's and women's showers and locker rooms. Our new upper level accommodates seating up to 420 persons in all three rooms with 2 built-in bars. There is a natural wood deck overlooking the 18th fairway and green, and a smaller deck off the dining room.

We are located just five minutes from the Peoria airport and 15 minutes from downtown Peoria. We are proud to be a part of the Bartonville, IL community as well as the Nicklaus family!
